Interim Financial Controller | Circa £100,000 | Salford Quays (Hybrid 1 day a week office) | 6 Month FTC ALF Recruit have been retained exclusively to recruit an Interim Financial Controller for a complex, multi-entity service sector organisation, on an initial 6-month fixed term contract with a genuine view to extend or move permanent. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys complexity rather than just coping with it. The group's structure spans multiple trading entities with intercompany dynamics and reporting lines that don't always run in a straight line, and it's still evolving. You'll need an open mind, the ability to run several projects at once without losing grip on the day-to-day numbers, and the stakeholder skills to work across senior leadership, entity-level finance teams and external advisers. What you'll get Circa £100,000 6 month fixed term contract with a genuine view to extend or go permanent Flexible working - one day a week in the office Exposure to a genuinely complex, multi-entity group structure at FC level Onsite parking included The client's preference is for this to be an employed 6 month fixed term contract with full employee benefits, though they're open to a conversation about an interim arrangement on a day rate for the right candidate What you'll be doing Taking ownership of Group financial control across multiple trading entities Preparing high-level management accounts and reporting, including accompanying reconciliations Managing intercompany dynamics, recharges and consolidations across the group Running multiple projects and priorities concurrently, without losing grip on day-to-day numbers Working closely with senior leadership, entity-level finance teams and external advisers Building and improving process as the group continues to evolve, rather than inheriting something fixed Picking up a number of ad hoc projects as they arise, and being prepared to support the wider finance team in ensuring whatever needs doing "gets done" What we're looking for Qualified accountant - ACCA, CIMA or ACA Financial Controller experience within a multi-entity or group structure, ideally with real complexity - multiple legal entities, intercompany recharges, consolidations A genuinely open mind - comfortable that the answer today might not be the answer next month Strong stakeholder management skills across varying levels of seniority Comfortable with a lean, mostly-remote working pattern, self-directed but collaborative when it counts Audit exposure would be advantageous If you are a Senior Finance professional who wants a genuinely complex, evolving environment rather than a steady-state finance function, this is well worth a conversation.
