Family Safeguarding Social Worker Location: Rawtenstall (Covering Haslingden, Bacup, Whitworth, and Rossendale) Department: Children's Social Care - Family Safeguarding Pay Rate: £39.00 per hour Contract Type: Locum / Full-Time About the Role An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Children's Social Worker to join a dedicated Family Safeguarding Team based in Rawtenstall . This role involves delivering statutory child protection and family support interventions across Haslingden, Bacup, Whitworth, and Rossendale . Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will manage a varied caseload, complete high-quality statutory assessments, and represent the local authority in court proceedings when required. Key Responsibilities Statutory Assessments: Conduct robust Section 47 (S47) inquiries, Section 7 (S7) , and Section 37 (S37) welfare reports within statutory timescales. Child Protection & CIN: Lead on complex Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) cases, carrying out comprehensive analytical assessments and formulating effective safety plans. Court Work: Prepare detailed, high-standard court reports and present evidence in public and private law court proceedings. Relational Safeguarding: Work directly with children and families using strength-based and trauma-informed practice models to manage risk and promote positive family outcomes. Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate closely with partner agencies to share information, manage risk, and deliver multi-disciplinary care plans. Candidate Requirements Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience in statutory Children's Services (Safeguarding / Family Support) with solid, demonstrable Court Work experience . Expertise: Hands-on experience undertaking S47 investigations, S7/S37 court reports, and managing CP/CIN cases. Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE) . Mobility: Full driving licence with access to a vehicle to cover visits across the Rossendale, Haslingden, Bacup, and Whitworth areas. Why Apply?
